The Story of our Recording Studio in London
We built this studio to give artists a trusted home for their sound. A place where the team understands the craft. Camden Records grew from that idea into the business we are today.
A Recording Studio Handmade By Artists
Camden Records started in 2018 when two childhood friends set out to build a studio shaped by their own experiences as musicians.
We wanted more than just a place to record: we wanted a space that felt alive and supportive, where artists could work comfortably, with professional standards and people who genuinely care about the music.
In 2020, we moved a few minutes away to Islington, into a larger purpose-built studio that gave us room to grow while keeping the spirit of Camden at the heart of everything we do.
However, what makes Camden Records special is the balance we bring: High level equipment and solid technical expertise in a warm, collaborative and inspiring atmosphere. Every detail, from the acoustics on each room to the way we welcome artists, is cared for so creativity flows and the production process feels natural.
As musicians, we know how important it is to walk into a studio that feels comfortable and also delivers results you can trust. That’s why Camden Records is both: a space where you can experiment freely to capture your best performance, and leave with music that feels authentic and ready for release.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big are your recording rooms?
Our control room is 35 m² and the live room 26 m², both with 5-metre ceilings. The vocal booth is 5 m². Each space is carefully designed to give artists comfort and the right acoustic environment for recording, mixing, or mastering.
Can your live room handle a full band?
Yes. We’ve recorded countless live bands in our 26 m² live room, built with 5-metre ceilings and enough space for ensembles, choirs, or orchestras, while still adaptable for solo projects.
Is the vocal booth comfortable for long sessions?
What makes your control room suitable for mixing and mastering?
The control room features bespoke acoustic treatment, mastering-grade monitoring, and industry-standard outboard gear. This provides a flat frequency response and wide stereo image, allowing mixes to translate reliably across any playback system.
Do you provide instruments in the live room?
Yes, all already included in the standard studio rates. The live room is equipped with premium instruments such as a DW Collector’s Series drum kit, Gibson Custom and Fender Elite guitars, a Fender Jazz Bass Elite, and professional amps from Ampeg, Orange, and Marshall.
Are the rooms air-conditioned?
Yes. All our rooms are fully air-conditioned and ventilated, ensuring comfort and focus even during long recording or mixing sessions.
Can I bring my own instruments or equipment?
Of course. Many artists choose to use our in-house gear, but you’re welcome to bring your own instruments or outboard equipment. Our engineers will help integrate them into the setup.
Do the rooms allow for communication between performers and engineers?
Yes. The live room and vocal booth have clear line of sight to the control room, making communication easy during takes and ensuring smooth, collaborative sessions.
